The Dayton Pride Partnership

The Dayton Pride Partnership, a program of the Greater Dayton LGBT Center, operates the events that make up Pride Week in Dayton each June year. The “Pride Partners” are the volunteers from the organizations and businesses that sign up to sponsor the Dayton Pride Partnership.

History

The program grew out of the many years that the LGBT Center operated the Pride events as a program owned by the Center. The first Pride Programs were held in 1984 and have been held annually since that year. Recognizing that this big effort is never the work of a few, the LGBT Center was urged to create the Dayton Pride Partnership to give more credit, rights and responsibilities to the organizations, businesses and individuals which collectively produce the June events. The Center responded and today the production of Pride is accomplished through an expanding community based collaboration. We urge everyone to support the businesses and organizations that make up the Pride Partners.

Goals

The goal of the Dayton Pride Partnership is producing a series of events each June for the Dayton & Miami Valley LGBT & Allied community. The events are designed to meet the varied tastes and pocket books of our diverse community. Some events like Pride Fest, the parade and rally, are available for a free-will donation. Other events like Pride Night at the Neon and the Pride Dinner are modestly priced. Pride Night on the Quadrant is also free with a modest charge to go into local clubs. Some events are held through the week and others are on weekends. There are both adult oriented events like the Monte Carlo and family type events like the all-day Pride Fest.
